Mixcloud Introduces ‘Select’ Fan-to-Creator Subscription Service
Share

Online audio streaming service, Mixcloud, has launched the first wave of their fan-to-creator subscription model that allows listeners to subscribe and support individual channels. Mixcloud Select hopes to bring audio creators and fans closer while also supplying artists and creators with another means of getting paid.

“We want to enable fans to get closer to the culture and communities they care about, while ensuring that everyone involved in the creative process is recognized and rewarded accordingly,” stated Mixcloud’s blog.

With Mixcloud Select, subscribers will receive additional features for the channels they subscribe to, like offline listening and tracklist access. Creators will be able to grow their fan base while earning revenue from their Mixcloud content. The free experience on Mixcloud will remain exactly the same.

For the initial rollout, Mixcloud invited 47 creators to be involved, including renowned DJs like Oliver Heldens, Afrojack, Nicole Moudaber, and John Digweed. There are independent online radio stations, record labels, and cultural curators involved as well like Defected Records and Who Sampled. Down the road, Mixcloud plans to add more creators, and those interested in becoming a creator can get a jump on it by registering now.

Subscriptions to Mixcloud Select start at $2.99 USD per month, with the ability for creators to choose a higher monthly minimum. To learn more or register as a creator, visit Mixcloud’s website.
