October 9, 1918
The Electrical Phono Film Company is founded by Axel Petersen and Arnold Poulsen with the objective of developing one of the world’s first synchronized sound film system.
The company name Ortofon A/S is established, deriving from the Greek words “orto” (meaning “correct”) and “fon” (meaning “sound”).
