Roland Announces Two New Controllers, the DJ-202 and DJ-505

Just announced are two new controller options to the Roland DJ Series, the DJ-202 controller for Serato DJ Intro and Serato DJ and the DJ-505 controller for Serato DJ. These controllers are added options alongside the DJ-808 controller and both give the user remixing, producing and performing capabilities. Here’s a closer look at each one:

Roland DJ-202 (US$299)

body 202

The Roland DJ-202 is a forward-thinking Serato DJ Intro controller that gives DJs the features and layout of a full-size professional controller in a rugged and portable unit. The compact and lightweight DJ-202 preserves the concept of the flagship DJ-808 and streamlined DJ-505, allowing unparalleled flexibility to DJ, remix, and produce beats on the fly while performing live or creating in the studio. The intuitive layout of the DJ-202 and its plug-and-play connectivity will have you DJing in no time at all.

With its large, low-latency platters, dedicated pad and transport controls, onboard sequencer, and mic input with professional vocal FX, the DJ-202 packs in the most features of any controller in its class. And with 24-bit/48 kHz fidelity and Roland’s high-resolution audio hardware, your performances will sound amazing on any sound system. Check out full specs here.

 Roland DJ-505 (US$699)

body 505

The Roland DJ-505 is a two-channel, four-deck Serato DJ controller that blends the advanced performance capabilities of Serato DJ with the legendary sounds and sequencing of Roland’s TR-808, TR-909, TR-606, and TR-707 drum machines. The DJ-505 gives you the tools to move beyond mixing music to creating beats and rhythms on the fly that sync to your Serato DJ tracks, enabling the creation of unique transitions, live remixes, beefed-up classic tracks, or your own original music.

Like the flagship DJ-808, the DJ-505 is a powerful and inspiring instrument that allows unparalleled flexibility to DJ, remix, and produce. With its standalone mixer functionality, narrow footprint, and Serato DVS upgrade path, the DJ-505 is an ideal controller to pair with turntables or CD players. Check out full specs here.

We’re stoked on these new controllers from Roland. Both will be available in November 2017. Let us know what you think and if you plan to add either to your set-up!
