Sounds.com Offers a Flat Rate Subscription for Loops and Samples
In a world where subscriptions are available for everything from music to beer to razors, it’s no surprise that Native Instruments, the manufacturer responsible for Maschine and Traktor, would be on the cutting edge. Just announced, Native Instruments is behind the new website, Sounds.com, offering a monthly subscription to royalty-free loops, samples and sound packs for music production. It’s currently in beta to U.S. customers only, but is expected to launch globally by the end of 2018.
Sounds.com is led by Native Instruments’ chief digital officer and former Beatport CEO, Matthew Adell. Adell told The Verge that there are plans in the future to build a plugin that will be compatible with any Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). This would allow your library of Sounds.com samples to be easily accessed within any program you’re using to create music.
As of now, the website has over 500,000 sounds with genres including electronic, bass, Americana, hip-hop, trap, pop/rock, R&B, and techno. You can subscribe for the “free forever” plan that includes selected sounds, or take advantage of a special introductory price of $9.99 that allows access to download any sounds, as well as exclusive premium releases.
Here are some key features you’ll find on Sounds.com:
