New Music Game from Creators of Guitar Hero Lets You Mix with Friends
Share

There’s a new game hitting the market this September that lets players blend popular songs from award-winning artists to create “mind-blowing mixes.” DropMix is a fast-paced music mixing game created by Hasbro and the video game company, Harmonix, best known for Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Dance Central.

The game requires no actual music-making skills and uses a cutting-edge technology to instantly blend songs once a playing card is dropped on the electronic board. It comes with the board and 60 playing cards, each with an individual song to get your mix going.

As of now, there are 2 modes to play: Clash (dominate the mix and beat your opponent(s) by reaching 21 points first) and Party (work together to answer requests quickly and light up the board with your high score). There’s also an option to save a mix to your device. The creators plan to add more than 300 additional playing cards across a variety of genres for the 2017 collection.

The entire game is controlled from a phone or tablet using the DropMix app, available to download from the Apple App Store or Google App Store. A compatible device and internet connection are required to play. Compatibility is pretty standard and requires iOS 9.0 and above with the following devices:

  • iPhone 5s+
  • iPad Air +
  • iPad Mini 2 +

It also supports these Android devices running Android 5 and above:

  • Samsung Galaxy S6+
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 5+
  • HTC One M9+
  • LG G4 +
  • Motorola Droid Turbo 2+
  • Huawei Google Nexus 6P+
  • Google Nexus 9+

DropMix promises you’ll be making exciting beats and mastering mixes with your friends in no time. We want to hear from you – would you play a game like this? If professional DJs and producers don’t take it too seriously, we think it will be a fun addition to a party or game night. Let us know your opinion!
