BPM SupremeTV Interview with Max Vangeli

Size Records Electronic music producer Max Vangeli was presented one of the most promising artists for 2011 by MTV and DJ Mag. Since then he has exceeded expectations. In 2012 Vangeli released collaborations with some big names in the industry such as Steve Angello, Tiesto and Calvin Harris. From there Max dropped his weekly CODE RADIO podcast in 2013. The mix became globally recognized within two months of releasing it. In 2014, he collaborated with long time friend and producer Danny Ray and put out a progressive house track ‘Grim’ on Size Records. After his ‘Grim’ track, Vangeli tweaked around his sound with the single ‘Last Night Changed It All’ charting in the Top 25 of the iTunes dance music chart alongside Skrillex and Avicii.

Max Vangeli Interview

1. How do you manage to balance working on music while touring all over the world?

It’s honestly extremely hard especially because I like working in my studio so much. But it’s all about getting the work done before hitting the road. It’s a challenge but after doing it for so many years, it becomes a bit easier.

2. Where do you get your inspiration when you make songs like “You & Me” and “Last Night Changed It All” ?

Honestly from my heart I’m hoping. I think both of these records are very unique in their own right, but most of all, they were songs by the same girl which created even more of a unique and special scenario. It also shows people how much I really do love Progressive House.

3. Do you prefer making music solo or as a duo?

I prefer both, as they are two different crafts. Sometimes I love being alone in the studio making records, but sometimes I like being in a room full of people bouncing ideas off of each other. It’s a completely different experience.

4. Recently, we have seen you mention “NoFace” on twitter. Can you tell us a little bit about that?

It’s my new Record Label which I will be launching very soon! Stay tuned, that’s all I can say for now.

5. What can we expect from Max Vangeli in 2015?

As I previously mentioned my new label, and actually a new side project which I cannot reveal too much about at the moment but just stay put.

6. For those who don’t know, what is SIZE in the park?

As you may know, SIZE is our record label which is run by Steve Angello. “In The Park” shows are where we get together and throw one of the best parties around the world! We have a ton of amazing talent on SIZE and it’s great when Steve puts us all together into one big festival type environment. It’s just one big party with an amazing sound!

7. What is your favorite type of food?

Sushi!!! But I do love all sorts of food honestly.

8. What does Max Vangeli enjoy doing on his spare time?

Max likes to to work, work and work. But I do love watching sports and fishing a lot. I spend a lot of time working out as well. It’s important to stay healthy.

9. What is the craziest venue or festival you’ve experienced?

So many different ones honestly, but I will never forget the first time I played Creamfields. Sensation White was also incredible! As far as clubs, I would say Pacha Ibiza.

10. If there is one city you haven’t played at and you wish you had the apportunity to go this year, which city would it be?

It’s more than one city I would say. What I wanna do is a world tour and hit up every major city in one run, and not stop until it’s achieved. Lets say start in California and go on a road for 2 years. I know it’s a bit crazy but that’s something I will do one day!

You can find Max’s work in the Soundcloud player above. His newest collaboration released on March 23, 2015 titled ‘Skin’ is available for free download. He teamed up with electronic producer Flatdisk on the track. Get it now!
