DJ Enthusiasts Looking Forward to EDMbiz

The fifth annual EDMbiz Conference & Expo is set to take place June 14-16, 2016, at Caesars Hotel & Casino. Happening alongside the Electric Daisy Carnival of Las Vegas, the dance music conference has been produced by Insomniac Events since it debuted in 2011. This year’s keynote speakers include Armin Van Buuren, Bob Lefsetz, Junkie XL, Moby and of course Pasquale Rotella, founder of Insomniac Events.

After a change of venue, this is the first year that EDMbiz will take place at Ceasar’s Palace, their new home. There will be more discussion panels and speeches than ever because the space has a lot of conference rooms, as well as exclusive club shows, pool parties and networking events. This includes a new town hall style of meeting where the audience is encouraged to participate, and a “hackathon” where producers and computer programmers can collaborate on new ideas for DJ gear and technology. There are three levels of badges that allow different measures of access to EDMbiz events, plus an official EDMbiz song contest for aspiring music producers.

Insomniac introduced the “three new cornerstones of EDM” in honor of the 2016 conference. They are experience, technology and aspiration. The company says that these three concepts will be infused into every aspect of the event. Experience refers to the EDM or DJ lifestyle that people in the dance music business go through. Technology is because EDM producers and DJ’s use it to play their music. And aspiration is the way that each DJ aspires to greatness.

According to Rotella, “EDMbiz is a unique opportunity for our entire community to come together and shape the future of dance music. From artists, promoters, agents and journalists, to people who simply aspire to be part of this amazing culture, everyone has the chance to contribute to the discussion.”
