Serato DJ Pro 2.3, Serato DJ Lite 1.3, and Serato Studio 1.3.1 are all now supported in macOS Catalina, as well as in Apple’s new Music app, the app that acts as a replacement for iTunes. With the new Apple Music App, DJs can automatically sync their music libraries with no need for manual exporting.

So what’s the downside? For now, DJs should remain cautious about upgrading their operating system because there are many pieces of DJ hardware that currently do not work with macOS Catalina. It’s important for DJs to check the support status of their hardware before updating using the link below:

Additionally, Serato Sample and Pitch ’n Time Pro and LE are still not compatible with Catalina, but Serato says that development is in the works. It’s also important to note that new Apple laptops cannot be downgraded from Catalina.
