Serato Studio’s ‘BeatFighter’ is a ’90s Video Game Inspired Beat Making Challenge
Share

Serato and Serato Studio just announced “BeatFighter,” an interactive online beat making challenge that pays homage to the classic 1990s arcade fighter games. Participants are invited to create their own Serato Studio beat and submit on Instagram to compete with other beat makers around the world.

“BeatFighter is a really epic combination of gaming and music production. To bring it to life, we have designed custom locations and characters, even backstories. There’s nothing quite like it,” said Scotty Hoogerbrug, Serato’s chief marketing officer.

This creative competition is perfect for DJs, producers, and even gamers who are spending more time at home than usual. To enter, contestants need to screen record their Serato Studio beat making session and then upload to Instagram using the hashtag #SeratoBeatFighter.

Judges from Serato will initially choose eight submissions in total to go head-to-head. From there, the contestants will be judged by public voting via Instagram. The grand prize package includes a 16’’ Apple MacBook Pro, KRK studio monitors, AKAI Pro hardware, AiAiAI headphones, plugins from Plugin Boutique, and more.

Serato Studio recently released a completely free version of their software that can be used to enter the competition. There is also a full paid version for $9.99 per month if you want to unlock more advanced features.
