Watch a Bernie Sanders and Kanye West Mashup

An Internet video that mashes up Bernie Sander’s speeches with Kanye West’s music has gone viral. Using the magic of video production, Sander’s appears to be rapping West’s song “Power.”

Both men have been featured prominently in the media recently for different reasons. The video feels particularly relevant as Sanders is running a presidential campaign advocating for the redistribution of wealth from the super rich. In the 44 second clip tension builds as Sander’s proceeds to the chorus, which goes, “No one man should have all that power/The clock’s tickin’, I just count the hours/Stop trippin’ I’m trippin’ off the power.”

The YouTube video is closing in on 100,000 view in less than 24 hours. It was posted by YouTube user Baracksdubs, real name Fadi Saleh, as part of a series of political mashups that also includes Barack Obama singing “I Can’t Feel My Face” by the Weekend. If you have an idea for a new mashup you can tweet it using the hash tag #baracksdubs.
